Common Questions.
Everything you need to know about starting your mental wellness journey, and what our time together will feel like
New here? Not sure where to start?
If you’re new to therapy (or it’s been a while), you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. You don’t even need a "plan." In our first few sessions, we’ll simply focus on what’s been weighing on you, what you’d like to be different, and what feels doable right now.
Think of this as a space where the pressure is finally off. You’re welcome to show up unsure, nervous, or not quite sure what to say. We’ll figure the rest out together, at a pace that feels safe for you
You don’t need to be in a crisis to reach out. If you feel "stuck," overwhelmed, or simply feel like you’re losing your sense of peace, therapy can help. Whether you want to work through deep-seated patterns or just need a space to process the weight of modern life, if it matters to you, it’s worth talking about
The easiest way is to reach out via my contact form/email/WhatsApp. We can start with a brief, 15-minute discovery call to see if we’re a good fit. If it feels right, we’ll schedule your first session. There’s no obligation to commit until you feel ready
Think of the first session as a gentle "landing." There’s no pressure to perform or have a perfect script. We’ll spend time getting to know each other and exploring what’s been weighing on you. It’s a space for us to see how we work together and decide on the best path forward for you
Not at all. There is no need to bring notes or have a "plan." The first session is simply about arriving as you are. If you have any previous reports or specific documents you’d like me to see, you’re welcome to share them, but the only requirement for our first meeting is your presence
Your privacy is the cornerstone of our work together. Everything we discuss is protected by professional ethics and Singapore’s data protection laws, with exceptions involving serious risk of harm or abuse.
For parents and teens: A teen needs to feel safe sharing things they might be too overwhelmed to say elsewhere. I prioritise the teen’s trust and am always transparent with them about any communication I have with parents. While I provide periodic updates to help you support them at home, I protect the private details of our talks to empower them to eventually share those difficult things with you themselves
Each session is approximately 50-60 minutes. Some people find clarity in 8–12 sessions for a specific challenge, while others prefer ongoing bi-weekly or monthly support. We will always move at a pace that feels right for you, and we can adjust as your needs change
Yes. I provide in-person sessions at my clinic in Bukit Timah for those who prefer a physical space to "unplug." For those with busy schedules, I offer teletherapy via a secure, healthcare-grade platform (HIPAA and GDPR compliant). I can also accommodate sessions for those located abroad, provided the time zone is manageable and the internet connection is stable
Individual Therapy: $220 + GST per 50-minute session (pro-rated if we extend)
Cancellations: I reserve a specific slot just for you. If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice incur the full fee, though I am happy to be flexible if you are suddenly unwell
I provide receipts for insurance claims; please check if your plan covers "Psychological Services," "Counselling," or "Mental Health Treatments." I can also offer initial 3-session discounts for students and those navigating financial concerns. Please feel free to ask about availability
My practice is not a crisis service. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or are in immediate danger, please contact:
SOS (Samaritans of Singapore): 1767 (24 hours)
IMH Emergency Helpline: 6389 2222 (24 hours)
Emergency Services: 995 or head to the nearest A&E
